Saturday -- Finally to Kansas!

Dan and I are still riding together, and today was a long ride for both of us...101 miles today.  The weather was more bearable, and the roads, although up and down, definitely started to get flatter as the day went on.

We were glad last night we were able to find a place to camp under cover, because there were some wicked storms that came through.  We actually got a bit of a later start than usual because we stayed in our tents waiting for one of them to pass.

We crossed into Kansas late today!  State # 5 on our trip.  I have the feeling Kansas will seem like one very long, flat, straight road.
Tonight we are in Pittsburg, Kansas.  I think we got the last available motel room in town.
First time out of the hills since we started on the ride

Welcome to Kansas!!

  2. Jeff, it was an honor to meet you and Dan yesterday. Your enthusiastic spirit and positive attitude in spite of some very devastating life events, was inspiring to say the least. I wish you and Dan the best of luck on your journey and look forward to reading future posts.
